It’s a song originally by English drummer, singer, and songwriter, Phil Collins 菲尔·科林斯（fēi ěr kē lín sī). It was recorded for the soundtrack to the 1984 film of the same name. It’s a power ballad 抒情金曲（shū qíng jīn qǔ) in which its protagonist implores an ex-lover to “take a look at me now,” knowing that reconciliation is “against all odds” while considering it worth trying.

The single reached number two in the UK, while it peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 公告牌百强单曲榜（gōng gào pái bǎi qiáng dān qǔ bǎng), the first of seven number ones in the US for Collins in his solo career.
The song has been covered by several singers, some versions of which have been successful the world over. The song has twice reached number one in the UK singles chart: the pairing of Mariah Carey 玛丽亚·凯莉（mǎ lì yà ·kǎi lì) and boyband Westlife 西城男孩（xī chéng nán hái), in September 2000, and then again by Steve Brookstein, the first winner of The X Factor, in January 2005.
It became a hit yet again when the hit TV series GLEE《欢乐合唱团》(huān lè hé chàng tuán) covered the song during one of the show’s monumental breakup moments.
