We’ve had many requests for various help at KTVs all around China, so we’ve started a series called “KTV Classics” where we [try to] help you learn different staple songs that could make any Chinese crowd erupt in applause.
You can use these posts to practice the songs beforehand, or even open up the article as you’re singing to look at the pinyin, for quick reference in a jam.
Our first song, is the classic 甜蜜蜜 tián mì mì (our translation: Sweetness) which you can listen to first here:
Have you heard it before? It really is a classic and you’ll often hear it around town sung by many different artists. It’s about love and being sweet and meeting your lover in your dreams…
The most famous version was done by Taiwanese/Hong Kong songstress Teresa Teng 邓丽君 dèng lì jūn in 1979.
And when we say classic, we mean classic. You won’t win any “cool” points with the young people for this one.
